Lee Meddin, the founding partner of Sagacious Capital LLC, served as Deputy Treasurer of IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank Group. In this capacity, he helped to manage IFC’s $80+ billion balance sheet, which consisted of approximately $40bn invested in high quality liquid assets, and approximately $40bn invested in emerging markets debt and equity. Prior to this role, he led IFC’s global structured and securitized products efforts, where he and his team structured and invested in transactions for their emerging markets clients, helping hundreds of clients in over 45 developing countries to raise in excess of $15bn, denominated in over 35 currencies.
Prior to joining the World Bank Group, Lee worked as an investment banker, based in the US, Europe and Asia. In the late 90s, he was based in Singapore where he led ABN AMRO’s fixed income structuring efforts throughout Asia. Prior to that, he was based in London, working with First Chicago, now part of JP Morgan, where he structured and traded interest rate derivative products for European clients. He started with First Chicago on the foreign exchange options trading desk in the US. Before entering investment banking, Lee worked as an engineer, where he designed supervisory control and data acquisition systems for the oil and gas industry. |
